calling it across the park, calling it in front of your neighbors &
friends, and people will judge YOU by your pet's name. Don't make it
embarrassing.

You've got your new puppy, and now it's time to go through a list
of puppy names and choose one that's just right for you and your
pet.
There are many puppy names to choose from. Puppy names can be
anything we call a human, or something specific to a dog e.g. Fido
(not many people called Fido !)
The potential list of names for dogs and pets is very large, and

Choose a puppy name you like, and one you'll use. There's
no point in going for puppy names you are going to shorten
immediately. If the puppy name is hard to say, then people
start using pet names or cute names for him. That's okay for
them, but it will confuse your new puppy. He needs to learn his name
and respond to it.
Some people recommend choosing puppy names that end in a long 'e'
sound. Puppy names that end in 'e' tend to be easier to
pronounce and heard better by the puppy. Think of Rosie,
Jessie, Maxie etc.
You might want to find a list of puppy names or even baby names,
that explain the meaning of a name. e.g. running water, soft
breeze. Did you know that 'Maxine' means 'the greatest' in
Latin ? Name your puppy with a name that reflects his
personality, or your personality.
Take your time and choose from puppy names you like best.
